Criticism of Obama’s Big Stimulus Plan (hee hee) that doesn’t include proposals for what money should be spent on no longer gets to pass muster. Personally, I will echo Yglesias’ proposal for money for LA’s subway to the sea. As someone who actually rode the LA subway I feel uniquely positioned to say that more people would ride it if it followed the proposed path down Wilshire. And given the state of LA traffic that would be a huge boon to the region’s efficiency. I realize that groundbreaking could not occur in a 24 month timetable, but civil engineers could be put to work immediately. Let’s make some investment happen!
